Carnival of the Capitalists
This weeks Carnival of the Capitalists is up at Beyond the Brand. The CotC is a weekly roundup of some of the best business and economics blogging during the past week or so. If you don’t follow the CotC, you should consider making a habit of scanning each weeks list of CotC articles for ideas and concepts you may have missed.
Here’s what caught my eye this week:
Sugarmama has her first management project and writes that “Managing people is hard!” It should be, as one manages resources, but leads people. Its an easy mistake to make. One is called a manager and is assigned people to supervise, so its almost logical to assume that one manages people. Plenty of good comments by readers like you regarding the practice of leadership.
Jay Allen at The Zero Boss writes about a recent encounter with a tea company that was attempting to buy a higher PageRank by purchasing links using their products. Jay linked to the company using his highly ranked blog and that’s when the troubles soon began. Amazingly, the company was less than adept in their handling of the incident. This is a good read — short, but good.
Peter Capula of pc4media provides a short piece on the how to of “Getting Your Event Online. Using the Web Before, During and After the Event.” As I’ve had a few calls recently from other folks wanting to promote their events and needing help on online registrations, Peter’s article was interesting as it presents a well articulated solution in short primer form. Good to see that his recommendations match my own.
If these three articles don’t ctach your fancy, click through to Carnival of the Capitalists and find another 2-3 that do.
